In Nepal, mental health is highly stigmatized and less in government's health priorities. Therefore, people with mental health and psychosocial problems generally do not receive services they need. Prime Nepal aims to conduct awareness raising programs in the communities and schools through orientation, medias, dramas and cultural programs. In order to overcome stigmas and increase the demand for mental health services. People who are recovered can play an important role to change help-seeking intention and behavior by sharing their experiences in the community.
Prime Nepal builds capacity of community members and staffs of local organizations to better understand mental health and psychosocial needs and provide mental and psychosocial care and support. We provide variety of training packages ranging from one day orientation programs to six months psychosocial counseling training and special HAP (Healthy Activity Program)/CAP (Counseling for Alcohol Program) training and family intervention training.
